Main Responsibilities 

The Product Operations department has responsibility for providing support to our UK Branches and all Handelsbanken Group offices to ensure customers are provided with a high standard of service.

The role of the Operations Officer is to work within a team of Operations Officers to ensure that all Handelsbanken customer payments are sent/received accurately and all aspects of Handelsbanken product offerings are supported operationally to deliver high quality customer outcomes. The role holder will be expected to:


  • Work as part of the team to ensure the day to day activities and work flow are adequately prioritised to suit shifting demand
  • Work independently to carry out daily tasks, in accordance with relevant procedures and controls
  • Ensure payments are actioned correctly and branches supported with any payment related queries/recoveries, investigations 
  • Work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Identify process improvements in order to create efficiencies within the department and/or the Branch network
  • Support training and development of others within the Product Operations team 
  • Support and embed the Handelsbanken culture within the department

  • Previous banking and operations experience is beneficial. 
  • Knowledge and previous experience of Payment processing is beneficial
  • Proven experience of providing excellent customer service
  • An enthusiastic and dynamic self-starter 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: able to interact and deal with queries in a professional manner. 
  • Ability to thrive in a busy environment and work to tight deadlines 
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a number of tasks and display initiative 
  • Confident, professional and friendly telephone manner 
  • Team-player, able to maintain working relationships with a wide range of people
