Main Responsibilities
The Portfolio Management Information and Insights Lead will transform complex portfolio data into actionable insights, ensuring executives have clarity on key performance areas, including delivery, financials, resources, risks, and issues. By leveraging data architecture and PMO tooling, it enhances transparency and strengthens data-driven decision-making.
This role will create engaging visualisations, dashboards, and reports that go beyond simply aggregating reports. By working closely with stakeholders at all levels, they will ensure insights are tailored, relevant, and continuously refined to drive maximum impact on portfolio success and enable the strategic decision-making processes.
- Create dynamic and intuitive visualisations that present portfolio data in a clear, impactful manner, ensuring insights are tailored to different audience levels for maximum strategic value
- Design and implement a robust data foundation by consolidating delivery, risks, issues, resources, financials, and outcomes to enable meaningful insights and informed decision-making
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy by establishing and maintaining rigorous validation processes to verify all data used in reporting and visualisations
- Test and validate data inputs to ensure only reliable, high-quality information is reflected in dashboards and reports, preventing errors and inconsistencies
- Collaborate with data owners and key business stakeholders to improve data quality, completeness, and relevance, embedding best practices in portfolio reporting
- Establish and manage a structured data update process, proactively flagging gaps, errors, and outdated information, and working with teams to resolve issues efficiently
- Own and manage the portfolio management reporting backlog, ensuring alignment with the overall PMO tooling product backlog and roadmap to drive reporting enhancements
- Monitor the impact of reporting and insights, tracking effectiveness through key metrics and continuously refining dashboards to strengthen their influence on decision-making
- Enhance the visibility of portfolio performance, ensuring adherence to controls and standards while providing clear, actionable insights to leadership
- Analyse portfolio data to identify and surface emerging trends, potential risks, and opportunities, enabling proactive interventions and optimised portfolio performance
- Operates in line with the Bank's Risk Management framework and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate and timely escalation of any concerns to their line manager

The role holder will have extensive experience in portfolio analytics and visualisations, with a proven track record of embedding data-led decision-making within complex environments. They will have deep expertise in developing strategic visualisations, optimising reporting frameworks, and ensuring insights translate into meaningful portfolio actions. With strong stakeholder engagement skills, they will drive the evolution of portfolio intelligence to support executive priorities.
- Expertise in turning complex data into compelling narratives and visualisations that drive clear decision-making and alignment with business goals
- Proven experience within a Portfolio Management Office (PMO) environment driving insights.
- Advanced skills in data visualisations (Power BI) and data architecture, combined with solid understanding of portfolio management systems and data structures
- A proactive approach to staying updated on the latest visualisation methodologies, and best practices to continuously enhance reporting capabilities
- Professional certification and experience across both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, solve problems, and take decisions
- Team Player. Enjoys collaborating with, learning from, and guiding others.
- Proven track record of influencing senior executives and facilitating alignment across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Skilled in managing time effectively, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Proactive, forward looking, flexible attitude with the ability to challenge constructively
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to analyse, and present complex issues clearly, in order to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong experience with tools to optimise delivery team performance such as enterprise portfolio management tools, JIRA, Confluence, Teams, SharePoint, Excel and Power Point.
- Problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset, identifying issues and driving resolutions to conclusion with minimal management support
