Job Introduction
The Agile Centre of Excellence (CoE) Manager will drive the implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of Agile methodologies across the bank. The Agile CoE Manager will be responsible for establishing and leading the Agile CoE, to serve as the hub for Agile best practices, training, coaching and mentorship.
The role is critical in enabling teams to increase the pace of change, and deliver value more effectively and efficiently, and whilst balancing this against the design and implementation of a robust controls’ environment for Agile teams.
The Agile CoE Manager will take on line management responsibilities for the Scrum Masters, building team cohesion, encouraging a sense of unity, and supporting Scrum Masters with stretching growth objectives and opportunities.
Main Responsibilities
- Establish and Lead the Agile CoE by developing the vision, mission, and strategy for the Agile Centre of Excellence
- Define and implement the roadmap for Agile adoption
- Design and deliver training programs and workshops to build Agile capabilities across teams
- Design and continuously improve IT change processes for Agile governance and controls, ensuring that these are fully understood, communicated, and embedded by the delivery teams
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Agile teams
- Facilitate the implementation of Agile tools and processes, ensuring alignment with the bank’s strategy
- Champion the Agile transformation within the bank, advocating for the cultural and behavioural changes needed for success
- Work with the IT Change Governance team to ensure IT change processes for Agile are communicated effectively and included in key governance artefacts
- Provide effective leadership and line management to the Scrum Master team
- Manage the recruitment, performance, and development of the team
- Actively promotes and ensures adherence to the Bank's Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring timely and appropriate escalation of concerns to relevant senior stakeholders

- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset
- Solid experience in implementing Agile at enterprise level, within a regulated environment
- Exceptional communication and people skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse teams
- Experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and a solid understanding of software development processes
- Experience with multiple agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Professional standard of presentation skills
