Digital Product Owner - AI

Job Introduction

The Digital Product Owner will be responsible for delivering business value from Handelsbanken’s Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics capabilities, utilising the Handelsbanken Group AAAI platform and other AI technologies.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary delivery team, the role holder will lead the development and delivery of AI use cases from discovery to prototype through to production deployment and ongoing optimisation.

The role will focus on identifying, shaping and delivering AI-driven solutions that improve efficiency, reduce risk and support business growth, working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and Group colleagues.

The role holder will be responsible for both the development (“change the bank”) and ongoing operation (“run the bank”) of AI-enabled products and services.

Unlike traditional product roles, this position requires a strong delivery focus and practical experience implementing AI or advanced analytics solutions.

Main Responsibilities 

AI Product Delivery

• Own the delivery of AI use cases from concept through prototype to production deployment.
• Define and prioritise product backlogs to ensure delivery of measurable business value.
• Work with Group AAAI platform engineers and virtual delivery teams to deliver AI solutions.
• Translate business problems into clear AI use case definitions and delivery plans.
• Own the ongoing improvement and optimisation of deployed AI solutions.

Business Value & Commercial Outcomes

• Define clear business outcomes and success measures for AI use cases.
• Work with stakeholders to quantify expected efficiency gains and business value.
• Track and report benefits delivered by AI initiatives.
• Ensure solutions deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, risk reduction or customer outcomes.

Data & Technology Collaboration

• Work with data teams to identify and prepare required data sources.
• Collaborate with architecture and technology teams to define technical approaches.
• Support data discovery and data preparation activities.
• Ensure AI solutions are scalable and production-ready.
• Work with Group colleagues to leverage the AAAI platform effectively.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the Bank such as Branches, Financial Crime, Credit and others.
• Build strong working relationships with Group AI teams.
• Ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout delivery.
• Support adoption and embedding of AI solutions.

Governance & Risk

• Ensure AI solutions meet regulatory and governance requirements.
• Work with 1st and 2nd line functions to ensure appropriate controls.
• Support model governance and audit requirements.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trail.
• Ensure responsible and controlled use of AI technologies.
