Main Responsibilities 

  •  Designs scalable data solutions that meet business objectives and align with IT strategy, ensuring data is structured, stored and managed efficiently. This includes data platform architecture and design (DWH, Data Lakehouse), data modelling, data flow, data integration and analytics architecture and design.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders, including business users, data analysts, and developers, to understand requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
  • Contributes to the development and maturation of the Data Architecture practice by establishing best practices, frameworks and standards for enterprise wide data management and analytics.
  • Designs logical and physical data models aligned with Bank’s conceptual data model to capture the organization's data requirements and ensure data consistency, integrity, and quality. Inputs into the development of the banks conceptual data model and how it is applied. Collaborates with data stewards and subject matter experts to define and enforce data governance standards and best practices.
  • Leads the development and adoption of data modelling capabilities by defining best practices, standards, and modelling methodologies. Support the maintenance of data modelling tools, ensuring they support business needs and integrate seamlessly with existing data architecture.
  • Designs the architecture and contributes to the definition of the operating models to support self service analytics and advanced analytics.
  • Fosters a culture of data literacy and promoting the value of well-governed data (structured and unstructured). Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure data models align with business objectives, drive consistency across systems, and support analytics, reporting, and operational processes.
  • Develops integration strategies to seamlessly connect data systems with other enterprise applications and data sources. Identifies and implements integration patterns and techniques, such as APIs, ETL processes, data replication, and real-time data synchronisation.
  • Designs and implements data solutions ensuring security and data privacy controls are adhered to. Ensures compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
  • Identifies performance bottlenecks and optimises the data solutions for efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval. Works with the data engineering teams to support performance tuning, capacity planning, and scalability assessments to support growing data volumes and user demands.
  • Stays up-to-date with emerging data technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Evaluates new tools and methodologies and make recommendations for their adoption to enhance the data architecture and improve the data landscape.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or extensive experience in financial services and technology industries.
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect with expertise in DWH/ Data Lakehouse Architecture, Data Modelling and Data solution design in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of Data warehousing, Master data, analytics and metadata management concepts, principles, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data modelling, database design, and integration techniques.
  • · Familiarity with Data modelling tools like ER Studio, EA Sparx and analytics tooling like Power BI
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality management principles.
  • Experience with integration technologies, such as APIs, ETL, SOA, event driven architecture and messaging systems.
  • Understanding of security and privacy requirements in data management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
