Job Introduction

Main Responsibilities
We are looking for an RPG developer with technical knowledge around the IBMi operating system and the security setup there.
- Document requirements / user stories based on the solution architecture and business requirements
- Ensuring development is carried out according to the Bank’s IT Development Process and follows the RPG code standards
- Produce high quality, clean, testable and maintainable code
- Lead/participate in Show and Tell sessions with business and technical stakeholders
- Create training material / user guides for the application users
- Troubleshoot and debug code/programs
- Evaluate existing application to reprogram, update and add new Features
- Understand business requirements and how they translate into the UKBR application
- Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new UKBR development
- Writing high-quality code within deadlines
- Develop technical documents and instructions to accurately represent application design and code
- Support of IBIS outside of normal banking hours.

- Knowledge of programming for IBMi operating system and platform using IBM Rational Developer
- Good understanding of authorities and security: subsystems: performance tuning: system API’s and SQL services specifically intended for systems management: journalling and recovery using journals.
- Ability to forensically diagnose issues using all available tools e,g, joblogs, journals, internal o/s logs etc
- understanding of SQL and ability to fine tune SQL for performance and ease of maintenance. Understanding of Visual Explain would be an advantage.
