Job Introduction
The project manager will join a team focused on modernising the Bank’s IT systems. The ideal candidate will have experience of key banking processes including payments, credit cards and cash management and understand these and their interaction with other core banking processes (e.g account management or financial reporting).
Main Responsibilities
- Overall Project Management according to the Handelsbanken Project Management model
- Managing budgets and finances for the project in line with existing processes
- Guide delivery, technology and business resources through the project’s lifecycle
- Ensure that the solution follows the Bank’s governance, architecture and security frameworks
- Organise, plan and manage the project within the agreed framework
- Define and maintain the project plan, ensuring delivery remains on track, within-budget and in line with agreed scope
- Ensure delivery is in accordance with the Bank’s change management methodology: all necessary documents and artefacts are in place, toll-gates are adhered to and clear auditability of key decisions made from start to finish.
- Helping prepare for governance meetings (steercos, meetings with execs etc)
- Defining and managing change control processes, including third parties

- End to end project management experience, from inception and analysis through to delivery
- Well versed in industry best practice for implementing bought solutions
- Ability to build positive and effective “influencing” relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- External vendor management experience, including full vendor selection & contract awarding
- Understanding and experience of core banking processes and UK industry context (e.g. familiarity with UK payment schemes)
- Confident using Project Management solutions such as MS Project
