Enterprise Wide Risk Manager

Job Introduction


A role has arisen within our Enterprise Wide Risk division.

Enterprise Wide Risk is the area that designs, delivers and enhances the Bank’s central risk frameworks, risk governance, board risk tolerance framework, horizon scanning, risk culture assessments, risk reporting, training, risk skills assessment and delivers both the risk strategy and the overall Strategic Risk frameworks.

The Enterprise Wide Risk Manager plays a significant role in this area to support all the elements required to manage risk at Handelsbanken plc. and requires engaging with stakeholders across the business and Group.  
 
The overall goal for the Enterprise Risk Manager is to:

  • Support the delivery of a fit for purpose, effective and efficient risk framework
  • Support the delivery of reporting that highlights the key escalations and provides oversight of the effectiveness of the frameworks
  • Supports consistency in risk management approaches
  • Support the good risk culture of the business
  • Helps the business achieve its long term goals

Main Responsibilities 

  • Support the development of the Bank’s Risk Framework ensuring it is line with best practice and supports regulatory compliance, the Bank’s low risk objective and a Risk Intelligent approach
  • Support the design of the approaches to risk Governance helping ensure that all key risks in the taxonomy have appropriate oversight
  • Support the enhancement of the Board Risk Tolerance Framework to effectively represent the Risk Tolerance of the Board for the management’s delivery of the strategy
  • Deliver the risk horizon scanning/emerging risk assessments
  • Support the development of the Risk Culture dashboard and deliver department cultural assessments
  • Deliver Risk Reports in to the MRCC and BRCC senior level risk committees
  • Support the delivery of the combined assurance plans
  • Deliver the Risk Skills Assessment and develop training approaches to meet key gaps

  • Have an understanding of Risk Frameworks and approaches
  • Be experienced in preparing high quality reports and supporting Board level content 
  • Be able to demonstrate strong communications skills and demonstrate an ability to lead conversation and influence discussions to ensure key points are understood and considered
  • Be comfortable challenging and influencing a range of senior stakeholders
  • Be able to work on their own initiative and enjoy the responsibility of delivering outcomes
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, be a team player with a positive, supportive and engaged approach to change
  • Have an ability to identify, extract and analyse risk data, insight and peer best practices (internal and external)
