Job Introduction
The UK Risk department is responsible for risk control within Handelsbanken plc ensuring there is a comprehensive and objective view of all risks in the Bank’s business operations, providing independent management assurance to the UK CEO that the business are identifying and managing its risks adequately.
The UK Credit risk team is responsible for Credit and Portfolio Oversight, Credit Risk Modelling, Climate Risk Embedment and IRB implementation. The breadth of the deliverables and the fact that processes, modelling- and analytical capabilities are continuously being developed and improved demands a flexible and collaborative approach from team members to ensure solid team performance in coordination with the business.
This role will work within the IRB project where the goal is to roll out the Internal Ratings Based (IRB) approach to Handelsbanken’s portfolios over the next few years.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide expert knowledge in terms of scope of IRB regulations and support the compilation and drafting of the IRB regulatory application.
- Perform horizon scanning around IRB regulations and ensure coordination with the relevant stakeholders across the bank for the assessment of any new regulatory requirements.
- Manage the annual IRB self-assessment process, including coordination and supporting the completion of the IRB regulatory self-assessment, including quality assuring the responses and evidences provided by the relevant stakeholders.
- Manage and implement the annual IRB self-attestation process for post IRB approval.
- Tracking of the action plans to remediate identified gaps during the self-assessment process.
- Provide guidance to different stakeholders on interpretation of regulatory requirements.
- Production and maintenance of IRB specific governance documentation in accordance with internal standards.
- Design, implement and manage a bank wide process that assesses and identifies any impacts of changes on the existing IRB models and approach.
- Coordinate the implementation of the IRB Target Operating Model.

- Relevant experience working in financial services, including working on IRB regulatory self-assessments. Experience with PRA modular application process is preferred but not a mandatory requirement.
- Solid understanding of the IRB regulation (CRR, EBA, PRA);
- Able to convey key interpretations of the regulations in a clear and concise way to less technical stakeholders;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to analyse, articulate and present complex issues clearly and concisely
- Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels and represent Handelsbanken effectively
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with impact with people at all levels
