Main Responsibilities 

Support the Head of Operational Risk Control develop and maintain the Bank’s Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), processes and tools;
Support the Head of Operational Risk Control in producing and executing the UKRO business plan;
Lead second line operational risk engagement in various risk and other key business activities including the annual Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and compliance with the Resolvability Assessment Framework (RAF);
Lead the design and enhancement of methodologies across the operational risk landscape with a forward-looking view in line with emerging risks and regulatory requirements; 
Lead the production of second line operational risk opinions, annual account reporting & disclosures and regulatory submissions;
Lead and plan annual validation and assurance, which includes targeted and / or responsive deep dives/thematic reviews into operational risk areas of interest (as appropriate) as well as Business-As-Usual monitoring and assurance; 
Support the wider Risk Management Framework enhancement plan and lead activities where required;

The successful applicant should: 

  • Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the UK and International regulations relating to operational risk; 

  • Have relevant experience in risk management within a financial services environment; 

  • Able to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal including being able to translate risk matters to non-risk professionals in a clear or simple way;

  • Be a team player and be able to build & manage strong relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels;

  • Approachable and also be proactive to engage with the business;

  • Be comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders including senior management;

  • Be able to balance the risk and reward and being prepared to make a decision / recommendation;

  • Be able to provide an independent view of risks and having the courage to express them;

  • Able to work on their own initiative and enjoy the responsibility of delivering outcomes;

  • Desirable to have a good understanding of Handelsbanken business operations & culture;
