The Handelsbanken PLC IT department is responsible for the delivery, support and maintenance of Handelsbanken PLC’s Core Banking systems encompassing Platforming, Risk, Payments, Lending and Customer Data. The IBIS system is the current primary core banking system with over 2,700 users. It’s run on an IBMi platform and development is done in RPG and SQL. The LIBI Programme delivers a new lending administration system for Corporate and individual lending products within IBIS.
The IT department is currently requiring an Environment and Release Engineer for the LIBI Programme.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Forward planning based on the future requirements for test environments for development and test
  • Provision of LIBI test environments for SIT, UAT and Pre-production in a timely manner
  • Definition and management of the change control process for test environments
  • Configuration management of test environments in terms of code releases and maintenance of configuration records
  • Maintenance of an outage log to enable tracking, assessment of project impact, identification of route cause and hence, lessons learned to facilitate continuous improvement
  • Provides a structured approach for deployment of system changes to test and Production, which reduces quality-related risk 
  • Responsible to make sure that changes to software are bundled together in releases which occur on a limited basis, minimizing the impact of changes to the users and the likelihood of introducing defects to Production.
  • Responsible for code stream management

  • Essential IBM iSeries and RPG-ILE technical experience
  • Experienced with Agile project delivery techniques
  • Experienced with Jira and Confluence
  • Full understanding of SDLC in an Agile environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Communication and attention to detail
