Local Credit Analyst

Job Introduction

The Local Credit Team had functional Responsibility for supporting branches to grow their business profitably whilst maintaining the integrity of the Bank’s credit policy and providing guidance at an early stage 

The key stakeholders for the Credit Analyst are UKK, Districts, Branches, Chief Branch Office. 

The Credit Analyst role is based in one of three Local Credit teams across the UK, but flexible working arrangements can be discussed based on individual circumstances.

We will consider applications from those who are able to work a minimum of 3 days per week.

Main Responsibility

  • Analysing credit proposals; advising and supporting branches using a good working knowledge and application of the Bank’s credit policy and rating system.
  • Providing verbal and written communication to deliver credit decisions; demonstrating interpersonal skills to effectively debate and support discussions on credit proposals and policy.
  • Supporting the branches with structuring lending proposals with appropriate covenant measures and security profiles.
  • Understanding the department’s place in the arrow to support branches and has an open consultative approach. Always willing to support the branches and colleagues.
  • Working with numerous credit proposals in a timely manner whilst performing a number of additional credit duties as part of the team to ensure good workflow at all times.
  • Conducting precise analytical reviews of all aspects of the work performed by the branches to ensure that the highest credit quality standards are maintained.
  • Supporting and coaching of staff via CQE feedback.
  • Provide guidance, support and training on the Bank’s applications and credit related documentation including KREDL, DEKT, RAKT etc.
  • Support to branches via branch visits including assistance with prospect lists and early identification and follow-up of high-risk cases.
  • Operate in line with the Bank's Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate and timely escalation of any concerns to their line manager.
