Job Introduction

The Branch Support function in legal (UKAJ-R) is responsible for providing legal advice and support in connection with various banking transactions with customers including facility and security documentation, and account opening and operating documentation.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate in line with the Bank's Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate and timely escalation of any concerns to their line manager
- Legal risk mitigation
- Efficiencies and cost savings to branches
- Knowledge development within the Bank
- More efficient connection to the identification of issues that may have a wider impact for the Bank
- Retention of customer ownership and decision making with branch
- Provide legal advice in connection with various day to day banking transactions with customers
- Draft bespoke facility and security documentation and provide legal advice in connection with the same
- Draft bespoke account mandates and documentation in relation to associated products and services, such as online banking and debit/charge cards, and provide legal advice in connection with the same
- Provide legal advice in connection with lending and security structures
- Assist branches with the interpretation of legal advice given by external solicitors in connection with lending and security transactions

- Experience and familiarity with general banking transactions involving customers
- Experience and familiarity with security and facility documentation is preferred but training would be provided for an enthusiastic individual
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to prioritise work and adapt to changing demands
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
