Handelsbanken plc is a relationship bank with a decentralised way of working, a strong local presence thanks to a nationwide network of branches, and a long-term approach to customer relations. Handelsbanken plc (HB plc) has been a subsidiary of Svenska Handelsbanken AB (publ) (Group) since 2018, and a Master Services Agreement (Intra-group) between Group and HB plc was created to govern how we receive and operate the services Group supplies. In addition, HB Plc operates a number of services for itself and Handelsbanken Wealth & Asset Management (HWAM), a subsidiary of HB plc, and is embarking on a series of modernisation initiatives which will alter the current service provision landscape, specifically increasing the use of Cloud services.
 
HB Plc are seeking an IT Supplier Management Lead to manage the overall service management operations and drive improvements in the service management model and performance. The role will ensure regulatory compliance for service management while preparing for future modernisation initiatives and embedding best practice for managing suppliers, outsourcing and IT Service Management. 
 
A key responsibility of the role is the governance of the Intra-group agreement with Group, and for all other intra-group agreements, including an established agreement between HB plc and HWAM. Strong experience with intra-group agreeements, and with financial regulations, is essential.
 
You will need to collaborate with a range of stakeholders at varying levels of HB plc and Group, across all business areas. The role assumes responsibility for an existing team and will grow the team to cover any skill, capability and capacity gaps.
 

Key Responsibilities 

 
  • For HB plc, manage the operation of the Intra-Group agreement governance for the Services received by HB plc from Group and ensuring HB Plc receive high quality service provision from Group. 
  • Manage the HB plc team responsible for intra-group agreements, including the usual managerial responsibilities such as performance management and people development.
  • Working with Group colleagues, embed a culture of continuous improvement in the governance, ensuring appropriate standards of service definition, SLA setting and invoicing are in place and met on a continuous basis. 
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for HB plc with all required UK regulation, with particular focus on supporting the Outsourcing (SS2/21), Operational Resilience and Operational Continuity in Resolution (OCIR) regulatory agendas. 
  • Ensure alignment of the management of the Services with the Group and HB plc Outsourcing and Third Party Risk Management policy and associated frameworks, specifically focusing on outsourcing requirements.
  • Organise, manage and lead regular service review meetings with Group suppliers and HB plc customers, to review performance, and instigate improvement actions.
  • Prepare management reports on status and issues and present status at formal committees including at Executive and Board level.
  • Working with HB Plc Risk, Compliance and Audit departments to ensure all risks are managed, compliance activities completed and audit points closed for intra-group agreements.
Align the development of the Services with the IT strategy. Include service improvements in the IT modernisation initiatives as needed.

  • Extensive experience of IT Services in a Financial Services organisation, and an understanding of relevant regulatory requirements (Outsourcing, Operational Resilience, OCIR etc).
  • A background in IT Service Management, service agreements and the follow up of supplier performance, demonstrating successful management of under-performance, including effective operation of various levels of governance meetings from working level through to executive.
  • Ability to work well within a Financial Services ‘Group & Subsidiary’ organisation with teams both within the UK and internationally.
  • Knowledge of legal entity structuring for service management and operation of Master Services Agreements.
  • A comprehensive understanding of IT methods, components, capabilities, operating model and strategies.
  • Experience of managing Cloud as a service. 
  • Excellent attention to detail, tracking and coordination of actions and plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting at C-Level.
  • Ability to understand complex problems and focus on the critical issues, providing solution recommendations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure on several initiatives at any given time, and prioritise effectively.
  • Able to effectively lead sessions with a mix of business and technical people.
  • Ability to build collaborative professional relationships at all levels of the organisation and represent HB plc effectively.
