Job Introduction
Main Responsibilities
- Work to tight deadlines and often under pressure whilst maintaining a high level of quality and competency
- Have a full understanding of financial crime reviews, investigations and reporting processes
- Perform quality control checks on all Sanctions and Screening work streams/processesAssess quality control results in order to determine whether issues/errors identified are isolated, or systematic in nature and develop and carry out appropriate corrective action plans as necessary
- Record and update relevant detailed, accurate and timely MI in relation to quality control checks completed
- Support the Team Leader in developing a high performing team culture through regular communication, coaching and team building
- Carry out ad-hoc assessments, projects and assist the Team Leader with escalations, issues, trends, feedback and communications within the Department and the wider business
- Where needed, support the implementation of BAU work streams in conjunction with various Bank wide projects
- Contribute to the development of financial crime policies/procedures, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and maintain these documents from a first line of defence perspective
- Operates in line with the Bank's Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate and timely escalation of any concerns to their line manager.

- Relevant specialist Financial Crime qualifications: e.g. ICA Diploma in FC/AML, ACAMs, Fraud Prevention are preferred for this role.
- Strong understanding and experience of AML, KYC, Sanctions and banking products and the UK regulatory environment.
- Be a self-starter and able to work on individual basis as well as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail, presenting information in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent communication and decision making skills with the ability to demonstrate sound judgement achieving the right business culture and behaviours
- Experience in 1st line and/or 2nd line FC function within a financial services environment
- Experience and knowledge of business and/or banking processes, especially around account opening routines and payment/transaction processing systems
- Experience and Knowledge of financial crime review, investigation, reporting and assurance processes
- Experience conducting quality reviews/testing the work of others to ensure quality standards and expectations are always met
