Main Responsibilities
Financial Control is Handelsbanken plc’s Finance function and is mainly based in London as well as across the various Districts in the UK.
Financial Control’s responsibilities include responsibility for statutory accounting and reporting, technical accounting expertise, business control, financial control, tax issues, capital and liquidity planning and management.
The key stakeholders for the Financial Control team are UK Management, the UK Board, UK Audit Committee, Districts, Branches, Chief Branch Office, Group Finance, Suppliers, external and internal auditors.
The Accounting & Reporting department is within Financial Control and responsible for processing the monthly financial statements, accounting operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and nostro reconciliations, amongst other things. The department aims for high quality accounting, reporting and ensures accounting principles implementation.
The finance operations function is London based, but flexible working arrangements can be discussed based on individual circumstances.
The main responsibilities of the Accounting & Reporting Financial Operations function are:
- Accounts Payable processing for all invoices including direct debit handling.
- Accounts Receivable processing for the bank.
- Nostro/Bank reconciliations when required.
- Processing of prepayments for departments and branches.
- Processing fixed asset additions transactions from AP invoices received.
- Processing regular and ad-hoc invoice recharge transactions.
- Assisting process review, ensuring Finance as a function work as efficiently as possible with all stakeholders.
- Assisting with internal and external audit processes where necessary.

- Strong attention to detail.
- Sound understanding of Financial risk, control, and analysis.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office tools, especially Excel.
- Structured work practise and a strong sense of administrative order.
- Strong communication skills.
