Main Responsibilities 

You will be joining our expanding team and will work with the Infrastructure teams and in collaboration with other teams to ensure the successful delivery of Cloud Hosting capabilities and supporting Operating Models as well as patterns for integrations with services across the bank.

In the role of Cloud & DevOps Delivery Manager, you will make an invaluable contribution to the IT Modernisation by ensuring the smooth delivery and adoption of modern, secure hosting capabilities that meet regulatory requirements. Key to success will be managing the dependencies and relationships with Group’s technology functions.

The ideal candidate will be a Delivery Manager with extensive experience in modern infrastructure delivery to support Digital services and working within a complex change environment. You will work alongside delivery managers and stakeholders for other programme workstreams to ensure the successful delivery of this critical IT Modernisation activity.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and support teams both locally in the UK and our Group organisation to drive delivery of Cloud hosting capabilities.
  • Build effective and positive relationships with colleagues both in the UK and Group ensuring optimal ways of working and clear accountabilities.
  • Establish ways of working for Infrastructure and DevOps teams and setup and run team ceremonies where necessary.
  • Manage delivery in accordance with the Bank’s project change management methodology.
  • Ensure all necessary documents and artefacts are in place, toll-gates are adhered to and clear auditability of key decisions made from start to finish.
  • Prepare required status reports and provide regular updates to stakeholders and Governance forums on project progress and performance.
  • Manage the delivery within typical controls, such as:
  • Resource and financial management (forecasting and tracking).
  • Planning, including dependency management.
  • Scope management (including change control and assessment).
  • Risk and issue management. 
  • Clear roles, responsibilities and decision-making authorities.
  • Establishment of design and delivery stage gates.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the cloud delivery team, promoting professional growth and development opportunities.

  • Recent experience of delivering Cloud infrastructure projects, ideally within the Financial Services environment.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in a value focused organisation.
  • An understanding and experience of cloud solutions such as Azure.
  • Experience working with agile and DevOps methodologies is preferred. 
  • Team Player. Enjoys collaborating with, learning from, and teaching others. Assumes good intent in others, and actively does their part to make a positive work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to produce comprehensive reports/briefings for senior stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of UK Banking Regulatory processes and security best practices for cloud environments is desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field (or equivalent) is desirable.
