Job Introduction
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced architect specialising in event-driven and publisher-subscriber real-time streaming architecture. As the Real-Time Streaming Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising the architectural solutions for our organisation's real-time streaming systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the architecture meets the business requirements and effectively supports event-driven, real-time data processing and streaming
Main Responsibility
Responsibilities:
1. Architectural Design: Design and develop the event-driven and publisher-subscriber real-time streaming architecture that enables efficient and scalable processing and streaming of data in real-time or near real-time.
2. Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and development teams to understand and analyse the business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
3. Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools related to event-driven and publisher-subscriber architectures, ensuring that the chosen technologies align with the organisation's goals and requirements.
4. System Integration: Work closely with development teams to integrate the event-driven and publisher-subscriber architecture into existing systems and applications, ensuring seamless communication and data flow across the organisation.
5. Scalability and Performance Optimisation: Identify opportunities to enhance the performance and scalability of the real-time streaming systems, and propose and implement optimisations to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
6. Security and Reliability: Ensure the architecture adheres to best practices for data security, privacy, and reliability, implementing appropriate measures to protect sensitive information and maintain system integrity.
7. Documentation and Communication: Create detailed technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and guidelines. Communicate and present architectural concepts, recommendations, and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and infrastructure teams, to ensure successful implementation and deployment of the event-driven and publisher-subscriber architecture.
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or extensive experience in financial services and technology industries.
- Proven experience as an architect or senior developer in designing and implementing event-driven and publisher-subscriber real-time streaming architectures.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, messaging patterns, and stream processing frameworks.
- Proficiency in relevant technologies and tools, such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, RabbitMQ, or similar.
- Experience with cloud-based architectures and real time streaming services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Solid understanding of data modelling, database technologies, and data integration techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex business requirements and translate them into architectural designs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
