Job Introduction
Handelsbanken plc (the Bank) is an important and continuously expanding part of Handelsbanken with over 165 branches countrywide, an established Head Office functional structure and Handelsbanken Wealth and Asset Management.
UKR is the independent risk control function within the Bank and acts as the second line of defence (2LOD) and provide independent oversight and control across the Bank’s principle risks i.e. credit, financial and operational risk.
The Risk Models and Data team within the Risk function is responsible for the development and maintenance of models and quantitave risk tools, risk data analytics, the regular production of a number of MI reports on various risk topics and risk data governance.
The role is for a Data Analyst to work within the Data Analytics workstream of the team. This is a great opportunity for an analytics professional to be part of a diverse analytics team and be actively involved in a broad range of initiatives such as supporting and improving regular management information reporting, ongoing modernisation projects and data governance.
The role will suit a strong communicator that can collaborate cross-functionally and apply their technical skills to support the data analysis and data driven decision making capabilities of the Risk function.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the modernisation activities of the Team across data analysis, visualisation and insight;
- Closely collaborate with the Data and Quantitative Risk Analysts of the team to embed Power BI and Python and automations in the teams workflow in order to produce insightful analysis and MI;
- Run regular production of MI and ad-hoc requests for data analysis as required;
- Support the development of robust data analysis for both ad-hoc and regular management reporting by providing hands-on support in the migration of SAS legacy tools into Power BI and Python tools;
- Support the team to meet Data Governance objectives and collaborate with colleagues both in the direct team but also cross-functionally to achieve this objective;
- Operates in line with the Bank's Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate and timely escalation of any concerns to their line manager.

- Relevant experience working with data analysis within financial services
- Degree educated, or equivalent, preferably in a STEM subject
- Able to demonstrate an advanced knowledge of Power BI and Python and the ability to leverage those skills for improved insight and efficiency;
- Able to demonstrate the ability to present data insights and MI to a cross-functional audience of various levels;
- Willing to develop an at least basic working knowledge of SAS and SQL so that they can support both the modernisation activities and BAU activities of the team as required;
- Have a good understanding of risk/financial terminology and be interested in developing this knowledge further;
- Proactive, structured and have the ability to build and nurture an internal professional network;
- Willing to learn and to work in an organised yet flexible and collaborative manner;
