Job Introduction
Handelsbanken plc (the Bank) is an important and continuously expanding part of Handelsbanken Group with over 165 branches in the UK, an established Head Office functional structure and Handelsbanken Wealth and Asset Management.
UKR is the independent risk control function within the Bank and acts as the second line of defence (2LOD) and provides independent oversight and risk management across the Bank’s principle risks i.e. credit, financial and operational risk.
UKRK is responsible for independent credit risk control, providing credit related governance, portfolio management and input into various Bank wide activities where credit subject matter expertise is required.
Key strategic areas of activity include ICAAP, IRB, which incorporates the establishment of a new Credit Risk Control Unit as part of the Bank’s IRB application, risk framework implementation.
The breadth of the deliverables, coupled with the fact that processes and analytical capabilities are continuously being developed demands a flexible and collaborative approach from team members.
This is vital to ensure solid team performance, in cooperation with the business, and across the Risk area.
The credit portfolio management role will enhance existing capabilities within UKRK and will lead the development of portfolio management systems and processes.

The role holder will be expected to build out and maintain a wide network across the business: from the branches to head office functions in UK and at Group.

Main Responsibility
The successful applicant will take a leading role in enhancing of the Bank’s portfolio management capabilities, working across the existing risk control function to develop portfolio oversight and analytics, working with our data and model development teams.
Responsibilities & Attributes include, but are not limited to;
· Supporting the development of credit portfolio management capability, including data analysis and insights, scenario analysis, oversight reporting and insight sharing;
· Providing portfolio oversight for a UK Corporate Real Estate lending portfolio;
· Experience with expert judgment credit risk rating models;
· Lead the improvement and support the development of macro risk analysis and stress testing capabilities;
· Support and provide insight into ICAAP and Recovery planning as it affects Credit risk;
· Experience of designing and implementing processes to improve credit governance and reporting (internal and external);
· A good understanding of the UK and European banking regulations;
· Possess experience of IRB and IFRS model implementation;
· Have experience of working in a credit related role
· Assist in the ongoing development of portfolio level credit risk MI.
