Job Introduction
The Operational Risk division ensures the business has a comprehensive and accurate view of its risks by providing guidance, support and assurance to senior management that the business are identifying, assessing, managing and reporting its risks adequately and accurately.
In this role, you will be working with an experienced risk management team which is responsible for providing high quality analysis, advice and guidance on the management of operational and conduct risk to ensure the business complies with the relevant policies, frameworks and regulatory expectations.
Control assurance plays a key role in helping the business to understand its inherent exposure to risk. Testing both the design and performance of controls is key to being able to understand where there may be gaps and vulnerabilities in the management of our operational risk.
The purpose of the Control Assurance Analyst is to undertake quality testing of the banks key controls in accordance with both the banks Operational Risk Management Framework / Minimum Standards, and the Control Assurance Schedule. All outputs from control assurance activities and reported accordingly, with findings / recommendation tracked through to satisfactory completion.
Main Responsibility
As a Control Assurance Analyst, you will report directly to the Control Assurance Manager.
The role will be responsible for the following:
- Undertaking control testing in accordance with the banks Operational Risk Management Framework / Minimum Standards, and the Control Assurance Schedule.
- Documenting of control testing outcomes in a clear and understandable format.
- Presenting of control testing outcomes and proposed actions to the appropriate stakeholders within the bank.
- Tracking of all control actions through to satisfactory completion.
- Ensuring the Control Assurance Testing Schedule remains both accurate and achievable.
- Provide executive and detailed summaries/analysis on control data when required.
- Identifying and recommending areas of improvement across both the UKSR control assurance processes and the wider control environment.
- Ensuring the timely escalation of key matters across UKSR and Senior Management.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships across the wider risk management community within the organisation.
- Provide training, awareness and communications to various business units as needed.

- Experienced in the delivery and facilitation of control testing (design and performance).
- Excellent planning and organising skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills and have an ability to lead conversations to ensure understanding.

- Be able to work on their own initiative and enjoy the responsibility of delivering outcomes.
- Be skilled in preparing high quality presentations for meetings and workshops.

- Have a good understanding of our business operation and culture.
- Have an industry recognised qualification for control assurance or equivalent (desirable).
