Job Introduction

ROLE OVERVIEW

An opportunity for a Business Intelligence Analyst has arisen to join UK Analytics and Information Supply as a permanent role. 

The successful candidate will work with both the Business and with IT to elicit requirements/user stories, recommending solutions that will help deliver business insights aligned to strategic value and regulatory compliance. A key feature of this role is working alongside the business to model and drive value from existing and disparate data assets through dashboard and data visualisation, enabling data driven decision making and supporting self-service analytics

Main Responsibility

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Requirements elicitation and development with key stakeholders, defining solution requirements
  • Documenting the requirements in the form of user stories supported with acceptance criteria ensuring requirements traceability and testability
  • Consultatively engage with the business in how to apply analytics capabilities to business problems and opportunities
  • Working alongside key business stakeholders to design and develop dashboards, BI reporting and interactive data visualizations
  • Foster and support a Data culture within our organisation and help build out data literacy
  • Helping to guide and inform solution design through working collaboratively with stakeholders including facilitating workshops, demonstrations and iterative development through prototyping
  • Conduct detailed technical data discovery across multiple source systems, supporting the population of The UK Data Warehouse Common Analytics Data Model including documentation and classification of attributes
  • Combine and transform data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources
  • Actively engage with Analytics communities within the Bank to champion and embed Analytics competencies

The Ideal Candidate

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Analytical approach to work; varying ways to problem solve
  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously and as part of a wider team
  • Practical experience and an understanding of both Agile and Waterfall ways of working
  • Experience of data discovery and data wrangling in SQL
  • Skilled at developing dashboards and data visualisations in tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik etc
  • Experience working within the Financial Services sector is also desirable
  • Working understanding of statistical concepts eg anomalies and outlier identification
  • Experience of key concepts of data modelling such as ERD’s,  Physical/Logical/Conceptual etc
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to  analyse, articulate and present complex issues clearly and concisely
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels and represent Handelsbanken effectively
  • Effective Stakeholder Management and able to effectively communicate to varying levels
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Attention to detail and an organised approach to work
  • Desirable : experience of python/R or similar and ML/AI concepts
