Main Responsibilities 

We have identified the need for a business analyst who will play an instrumental part in our transformation journey, specifically within our payments area as we undertake a rationalisation and modernisation of our payments technologies.

The successful candidate must have proven payments operations experience in a banking environment. They must be familiar with payments technologies, channels, processes, and payment types, including CHAPS, BACS, SEPA, Faster Payments, International SWIFT, Cheques and Cash. 

They will also be across the latest payments industry regulations and standards. Ideally, candidates will also have experience of the vendor selection process and working with third party system providers.

Successful candidates will be knowledgeable of latest digital technologies and service offerings, latest software implementation practices and security needs. They will be skilled at process re-design, internal stakeholder management, at all levels, and third party engagement. They will be able to perform suitable feasibility assessments and will be expert in requirements definition and management, including the ability to manage transitional requirements and all forms of business readiness. 

This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a highly experienced business analyst to support our IT modernisation journey and it could mark a significant career milestone for the right candidate. It is also a lengthy programme in duration, and so the successful candidate must be a great team player, must be adaptable and know how to get the most out of their team members, with the ability to work autonomously if required. 

General responsibilities 
  • Advise on the business analysis work approach within a business area (see skills sections below), also demonstrating a hands on approach by performing business analysis work within an agile delivery team.
  • Setting standards including business analysis governance and guidelines, with a potential opportunity to be part of a Centre of excellence.
  • Stakeholder management, including owning stakeholder relationships where business analysis interaction is involved.
